New Zealand Rugby Players Programme
The NZRPA is thrilled to launch our Aftermatch programme in partnership with the Global Rugby Players Foundation.
The Aftermatch is a framework of support available through the NZRPA Rugby Network for our membership. It is designed especially for players (male and female) transitioning out of professional rugby playing careers and for those who have already hung up their boots.
The Aftermatch extends on services already available through the NZRPA, supercharging three key areas that offer immense value to our members. These are: a dedicated Personal Development Manager (PDM) to support players through the transition period, access to best-practise counselling/psychology support, and individual career coaching.
For more information on the Aftermatch programme available through the NZRPA Rugby Network please contact:

Ireland Rugby Players Programme
Every player will experience some form of adjustment period after retiring from rugby. We believe that playing professional rugby is part of, and contributes to, a life career. We want to support former players, should they need it, throughout that journey.
Our Support Programme
The past player programme will be centred around four main pillars:
CHANGE Access to transition support to manage the change that we know comes with retirement and adjustment to a new career and life after rugby.
CARE Access to support to help with mental, physical, social and or financial wellbeing.
COMMUNITY Access to a community of former players that shares experiences and encourages positive impact and social inclusion
CONNECTION Access to new networks and mentoring programmes while maintaining a connection to the game.
Rugby Players Ireland is the collective voice of all professional rugby players in Ireland. We protect and promote all aspects of player welfare to ensure that players are considered genuine stakeholders in the game. With the support of the Global Rugby Players Foundation, we seek to empower those who have contributed to the success of the game to have a healthy and fulfilling life beyond the game.

South Africa Rugby Players Programme (My-Players)
In South Africa, retired rugby players face significant challenges transitioning from the high pressure environment of professional rugby to life beyond sports. These challenges often include identity loss, financial difficulties, and mental health concerns. Through the initiative funded by the GRPF, MyPlayers in collaboration with the South African Rugby Legends Association, is dedicated to supporting these athletes through a comprehensive programme focussed on transition support, well-being promotion and sustainable career development.
